The woman behind the camera

Born and raised in NYC, Fatou is a Senegalese Woman that always loved the idea of holding a camera and has been working as a photographer since 2017.

Fatou’s interest grew when she realized she could have an impact on how the world and her subjects see the beauty of women of color through her images. She strongly believes in the hidden beauty of everyday people. Completely self-taught, she tends to lean towards a portraiture style of work and event photography.

With the photography field being so male-dominated and women being a clear visual minority, it was hard for Fatou to get her work out there, and being one of the only female photographers in the Senegalese community didn’t facilitate the work. But her love for photography and people overcame that very quickly.

Fast forward today She is known as Fatou Photography, the young Senegalese woman who makes magic with her camera. Throughout the years She traveled, met amazing people from different cultures, and most importantly made memories with people that they will cherish forever.

Thank you for choosing Fatou Photography
